Founder

Amelia Fenmore.

Trained as an accountant before turning to design, Amelia approaches interiors with the same precision she brought to a balance sheet. The studio is built on the belief that a home should reward attention, not demand it.

Amelia spent her first career in numbers. Long days reading spreadsheets, long evenings reading shelter magazines. The transition came after a year that left her with little more than a small apartment and a willingness to start again. She took on her first design commission for the price of the materials. The second client paid in full. The third referred two more.

The studio opened in 2018 with a residential focus and a rule that has not changed since. Take on a small number of projects each year. Give them the time they need.

Approach

Three principles that shape the work.

001 — 003
001 / Materials

The room begins with what it is made of.

Plaster, oak, travertine, brass, linen. Materials are chosen for how they age, how they hold light, and how they feel underhand a year from now.

002 / Light

Light is part of the plan, not an afterthought.

Every project starts with a study of how the sun moves through the rooms across the day and across the year. Fixtures, finishes, and window treatments follow from that.

003 / Use

How the home will actually be lived in.

The brief is built from how mornings work, where the family gathers, what gets used, and what gets stored. The design does not fight the house. It supports the way the household runs.
